During week 4 you created your Task Management System. You now have an inventory of projects and next actions consolidated in a system you’ll come to increasingly trust over time.

A common pitfall with task management systems is they show you all of the things, all of the time. I’ve found this can create tremendous overwhelm. It can force me to subconsciously evaluate and re-evaluate not just your next actions but your 1 year goals, 10 year goals, and values.

The solution is to create a cadence of review, with varying horizons of focus.

The things you look at on a daily basis are different than the things you look at on a weekly basis, monthly basis, quarterly basis, annual basis, and so on.

Similarly, there are different cadences for reflection. You should be reviewing your 10 year vision, values, and vision plans, asking if they’re still relevant or need tweaking. That cadence is just not daily (or weekly.)

By getting clear on what gets reviewed and reflected on when, you avoid overloading your brain, and can peacefully make consistent progress on the things that matter to you.
